Am I getting boring yet?????

What's your top five tunes...........

Here goes for me.........

Comfortably numb......Pink Floyd.............................Jeez, I could chill out forever listening to this.....

Desert Rose.................Sting........................this song just kinda kicks me in the guts and says....Oh hell yeah...bring me a desert warrior on a plate.. NOW!!!

Freebird..........Lynnard Skynnard................... the ultimate in escapism through song.....................................

Learning to Fly..............Pink Floyd.........................I'm just a complete sucker for Floyd, and something that I wanna do before I get too old.......learn to fly...

And a totally out of character one here.............Adagio for Strings..........William Orbit..............

Think The Lost......whilst Luka is praying in the wonderfully gut wrenching Croatian, the music behind.......

Jeez...............I could go on forever...........

Please, someone else make me not seem so sad

Hugs

I'm a HUGE Madonna fan and at the moment I can't get enough of these remixes of her demo 'Has To Be' (which is my favourite song). Its on my MP3 player and I listen to it every night while I'm online. I know it not a 'CD' but I love these tracks.

As for a CD - I can't get enough of Delerium's 'Karma'.

I listen to a wide range of World Music...part of the perks when I had my own shop was that I received free music CDs. If you get a change to explore the mix titles under Putumayo World Music's label I highly recommend them, they're collections that explore and blend a wide range of styles. My favorite titles...Cairo to Casablanco, Dublin to Drakkar, and Mali to Memphis, though in all honesty I've never heard a bad title under the label. I'm also a huge Celtic music fan, with Clannad being my favorite group. The other CD that I keep in my car for driving to, is Balkans Without Borders, again a compilation of multiple artists.

Being a BeeGees fan I thought I'd share this...

11.08.2005 21:11

LEGENDE Bee Gees najavljuju veliki povratak
Bee Gees: 2006. je naša!
Autor IVAN MIKULIĆ

Image

Kako je Robin Gibb nedavno najavio, on i Barry planiraju održati niz koncerata, snimiti album u čast preminulom bratu Mauriceu, pisati biografske knjige o grupi, snimati remake kultnog filma koji je proslavio Johna Travoltu "Groznica subotnje večeri" i postavljanje mjuzikla "You Win Again" - prema uzoru na Queenov "We Will Rock You" i Abbain "Mama Mia!"

========================
and the translation....

Bee Gees: 2006. is ours!
Autor IVAN MIKULIĆ

Legendary Gibb brothers who makes a group
Bee Gees, are announcing that the next year
will be a highlight of their 40 year old career which was full of ups and downs, bizar fights, fall-outs and reunions. The year 2006. is marked as the one to return to the music charts all over the world.
The Plans are really big, but Showbiz masters don't doubt for a second in a sucess of the whole project, simply because it's about the group who has been on number 6 of the best selling artists of all time. Before them, are only the biggest names like Elvis Presley, Beatles and pop-king Michael Jackson.

As Robin Gibb recently said, him and Barry are planning to do a line of shows, to make an album which will be dedicated to their deceesed brother Maurice, also, to write a biography book about the group and to make a remake of the movie that made John Travolta a star, "Saturday Night Fever" and to set up a musical "You Win Again" - inspired by Queens "We Will Rock You" and Abbas "Mama Mia!" - which is supposed to premiere at the end of next year on Broadway and London's West End.

The highlight of their whole career and this project that follows should be a Free concert at New York's Central Park on 4th oj July 2007. which will be broadcasted live and the release of DVD from the same show will follow as well as 4-6 part documentary series about the whole project and the show.

After, when in January of 2003Maurice Gibb passed away, Barry i Robin didn't take long to announce their plans on the re-living the group and all in the memory of their brother and to keep the music of Bee Gees alive. -

- All we are doing will be as brothers and not as The Bee Gees, because that title is reserved only for 3 of us.- Robin said on the title speculations of the whole project. - Maurice would want us to go on as Bee Gees , because that's what we are-he added.

No pop-band has re-lived so many ups and downs in their career as Bee Gees did and inspite to all of it Barry, Maurice and Robin have found themselves among the most sucessfull vocals in the history. It looks like the new generations will have the chance to learn about the greatness of the group who is responssble for such hits as "How Deep Is Your Love", "Stayin Alive", "Night Fever" or soundtrack for "Saturday Night Fever".

I go through stages with music and end up listening to the same few CD's for ages until I get completely sick of them.

Current favourites have been:

How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb - U2
Modern Classics - Paul Weller - perfect for chilling out on a hot sunny day with a glass of wine
Call off the Search - Katie Melua

Just got a new CD - Eye to the Telescope by KT Tunstall. Similar in a way to the type of stuff Katie Melua and perhaps Dido do. All the tracks are good, with interesting lyrics but one in particular, Heal Over, makes me want to cry.

I'll listen to most things, my tastes are many and varied. My husband's family is Irish so we tend to listen to quite a bit of Celtic music. We actually had a song by The Pogues, who are a notorious Irish band, as the first dance at our wedding. It was a slow number though, not one of their typical rock ones.
